I just discovered your site today and I know this sounds terribly sucky but wanted to say how much I like your writing. Makes me slightly envious actually. Keep it up because it will give me a standard to aim for.

And he doesn't say the gas killed the Kurds, he said they don't think Iraq had that type of gas at the time. Big difference.

Oh and those missles destroyed were found to go beyond 93 miles, THAT'S WHY THERE WERE DESTROYED.

They only destroyed the older ones for show anyway, they're putting newer engines in the other rockets.

So if they hit Kuwait or Israel with chemical weapons that is ok because it's not America. What's the range on a 747?

The rebuilding in Iraq will go better because there is something we call "an infrastructure" in place. Afghanistan DOES NOT HAVE ONE. It is a country that has been constantly fighting for many many years. Iraq once had one of the highest standards of living in the Middle East before Saddam.

Hear about this one? Saddam decided to destroy an entire wetlands ecosystem! Hurray!

That Saddam Hussein and his sons are despotic and violent is clear. That Iraq will be better off without them is also clear.
But that America needs to go to war to remove them, when their own motives are not pure either, is questionable. The war will put millions of innocent people at risk. Islamic terrorists will be more angered by this, not deterred. Too many people still remember America's purely selfish interventions in poorer countries during the cold war and after. To many Iraqis and muslims world-wide, this will look like just another case of western military aggression.

Tell me, how do we remove Saddam and his sons from power without force?

I'd love to know as that's what we've been trying to do for 12 years.
