It boasts of returning power to ordinary people ("we want to give you back your money"), then pursues policies that will produce a few highly visible winners and unravel the social safety net, leaving the majority of people to fend for themselves."

Its amazing that CEO's make so much money, especially when you factor in the utter failure many of them were at keeping companies profitable.

CEO's constitute an entire tier? How so? Their numbers are hardly enough to warrant that term.
And while it's true that candidates like big contributors, the stats show that Dems receive far more big lump sums than the Rebublicans, while very very often 'mentioning the poor'.

The majority don't need a safety net, just a less onerous financial burden. Bush doesn't want to "give us back our money", but rather take less of it in the first place. That is OUR money, not the government's.
Fending for myself. Oh, if only our mommy style government would allow such a thing! Alas, I must be protected, controlled, and guided along the proper path, all for my own good, don't cha know.
Bush's real crime is wanting to reduce the size of that gov, a thing abhorrent to writers at the LA Weekly.
